Over the last century, five generations of bold and passionate entrepreneurs have crafted spirits in the ancient family distillery, founded by Emile Perrier the famous fruit-liquor maker. The last ones in line are even somewhat rebellious. In the nineteen eighties Jean-Michel Naud, a trained oenologist and passionate explorer of wines and spirits, the son-in-law of Robert Perrier, rediscovered the distillery. Today, with his son, Pierre, they have decided to reignite the flames under the copper pot stills to create distinguished Cognacs, which can be proud of their origins. They are also offering a range of unconventional spirits for the region, aimed at connoisseurs.

The Naud Family invites you to share their passion for the Art of Distillation by revealing these treasures which have been kept secret so long…

Built in the 19th century in the Cognac region, the ancient grain mill of Pinthiers, with its authentic paddle wheel, became the family distillery in 1923. Well hidden amongst the greenery and set upon a small island, the old limestone building, which is surrounded by lime and willow trees, is bordered by two arms of the River Seugne, which flows down into the River Charente. It is an outstanding distillery, hidden on its own island!

1923
Emile Perrier founds la Distillerie du Donjon in the heart of Pons.

1936
The ancient grain mill of Pinthiers is converted into a Cognac distillery. Distillerie Perrier is born.

1999
Construction of the first ever vodka distillery in the Charentes.

2017
Jean-Michel and his son Pierre bring the Distillerie Perrier back to life.

Famile Nau distillerie cachee
Following studies on fruit-liquor making in Bordeaux, and several experiences in prestigious liquor houses, Emile Perrier founded his first distillery in Bussac-Forêt in Charente-Maritime at the end of the 19th century. In 1923, he set up the Distillerie du Donjon at n° 20, rue des Cordeliers in Pons.
Moulin Naud Spiritueux
In 1936, on the Isle of Pinthiers, Jean-Gabriel, Emile’s son, converted an ancient grain mill into a Cognac distillery. He installed up to 5 copper pot stills, made by Speichim, and which were kept in action by his son, Robert.
Distillerie vodka Naud
In 1999, Jean-Michel Naud dared to build the very first vodka distillery in the Charente region. Fitted with 3 columns for rectifying alcohol, he started off by elaborating extra neutral French wheat alcohol and accompanied prestigious spirit brands at their debut with French vodka.
Famille Naud Jean Michel Naud distillerie cachee
It was in 2017, with his son Pierre, that Jean-Michel reignited the flames under the 5 pot stills in the ancient distillery in Pinthiers. Whilst expanding the family vineyard, the Naud Family is perpetuating the legacy of pioneer Master Distillers, initiated by Emile Perrier.
