Domaine Jacky Piret has been a family operated winery for generations, run by Frederique & Jacky Piret, situated in Belleville-sur-Soane, near Brouilly, the heart of Beaujolais. They have 12 hectares of vineyards spread across the appellation, with 5 Crus that are maintained under sustainable principles to respect the environment.
Their winemaking follows traditional Beaujolais technique, with carbonic maceration before pressing and élevage in old barrique. Piret wines seem to display a family stamp across their range of Cru’s, producing Gamay at its best, with wines that are elegant and complex. The humble couple appear to be very distant from the modern world, which is reflected through their wines, provoking a sense of time travel when drinking them, as if going back to their ancestor’s production.
