Bera Barbaresco 2015 ItalyBera Barbaresco 2015 Italy
Fate or history decreed that the Bera property would finish a tantalizing 400 metres just outside the Barbaresco zone. Typically unperturbed, Walter Bera has gradually developed a collection of the Piemontese classics, with each beautifully made, rich and strongly expressive – and great value. His Moscato is regarded as one of the most consistent in Asti.
This opens with scents of dark berry, toast and a whiff of graphite. On the tense palate, notes of sage, aniseed and tobacco add depth to the core of raw red cherry while bracing tannins offer support.

Aromas of rose, crushed mint, red berry and dark spice mingle together with an earthy whiff of leather on this fragrant Barolo. The vibrant, almost ethereal palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, star anise and an almost salty note alongside taut, polished tannins and racy acidity. Drink 2021–2026. KERIN O’KEEFE
Manzone Castelletto Barolo 2015Manzone Castelletto Barolo 2015
Castelletto is a big cru in Monforte, north of Ginestra. This is traditional Barolo, quite deep in colour from a long maceration, matured in a mix of old 500L and 700L barrels. Brown rim. Gorgeous rich nose, red cherry, balsamic, dried leaves, violet and rose. Earth and mushroom, which are also prominent on the grippy palate. Lovely lifted raspberry acidity in tension with tar, tobacco, leather, almond. Dusty, herbal, saline. Fabulous Barolo, a remarkable wine for the money.
Marinacci Barbaresco 2010 ItalyMarinacci Barbaresco 2010 Italy
Elegant and almost Burgundian in nature, this Barbaresco is a pleasure to taste. With layers of rose petal and sweet strawberry on the nose, and softening tannins on the palate, this wine offers the best characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape in one glass.
Marinacci Langhe Rosso 2015 ItalyMarinacci Langhe Rosso 2015 Italy
This wine is an outstanding combination of two local grapes: the rich Nebbiolo blended with the aromatic and elegant Freisa, a varietal rarely exported due to its low production. It is ruby red, dry with a good body and tannins.
