CREATION OF BRETON WHISKY
But the inspired idea that revolutionised the Warenghem Distillery is the creation of the first Breton and French whisky. Encouraged by Bernard Le Pallec, sales director, Gilles Leizour ensconced himself in the laboratory, creating a blend in 1987: the WB.
The first Breton single malt whisky followed in 1998, the Armorik. Brittany shares a Celtic culture, climate and land with its Irish and Scottish cousins. Supported by a coastal, rainy, stormy climate, the Breton character finds its full expression in the whiskies carefully developed by Gilles Leizour.
The daring gamble of breton whisky has paid off, Warenghem Distillery is a market leader in French whisky.
Michel Couvreur Blossoming Auld SherriedMichel Couvreur Blossoming Auld Sherried
Michel Couvreur Blossoming Auld Sherried is a Single cask Whisky produced only from malt spirit distilled in Scotland and matured in a fresh cream sherry oak cask.
Prior to bottling, its natural strength 51% alc./vol. is reduced to 45% alc./vol..
Dark amber robe with a reddish tinge. Fragrances of Sherry, flowers, vanilla, dried fruits.
Mellow, and long in the mouth. A fabulous balance between sherry’s warmth and the fresh flavours only barley can produce. To be preferably consumed after diner at room temperature (17 to 18°C).
This label does not indicate time spent in wood because the whisky’s maturity is reached differently in every cask.
Age is only one of the complex factors on which maturation depends. Blossoming Auld Sherried is the perfect demonstration of sherry impregnated wood’s greatest significance.
Michel Couvreur Cap a PieMichel Couvreur Cap a Pie
Michel Couvreur Cap a Pie. First edition in 2018, it should become a classic! Our usual “The Unique whisky” with a higher proportion of Malt Whiskies. Iodized fragrance with a hint of almond, vanilla sweetness, light floral, white fruit. On the palate nervous but very round with a hint of Sherry. Gourmand and drinkable, it is drunk as an aperitif at low temperatures. The high proportion of malt whiskies make that after tastes become more complex.
Michel Couvreur Overaged Malt WhiskyMichel Couvreur Overaged Malt Whisky

It has been reduced to 43% alcohol by volume. Beige amber tint.
Fragrance of dried flowers, flaxen tobacco, sherry wine, fat almond, a little smoked.
Fruity, powerful and long in the mouth.
Aimed at a balance between new pure young malts and fathomless maturity of older ones.
End of mouth: sherry roundness enhanced by a slightly smoked.
