The 7th release from Corowa Distilling Co, Quick’s Courage expression is the first “Federation Reserve” release from Corowa Distilling Co. It takes its name from John Quick, an English-born Australian lawyer, politician and author who was the federal member of Parliament for Bendigo from 1901 to 1913 and a leading delegate to the Constitutional Conventions in the 1890s.
It is arguably the most ‘mature’ of the Corowa so far with total of 600 bottles released. It was first matured in American Oak bourbon barrels before being transferred in ex-Pedro Ximenez Sherry Barrels for the sherry influence with sweeter toffee and vanilla notes.

It is this pristine water that flows from the mountain reserves that forms the main ingredient of the whisky produced. Corra Linn Distillery prides itself in precision, small batch production using the finest Tasmanian ingredients. Quality malt, Tasmanian honey and oak barrels refashioned by Tasmania’s renowned cooper, charred to specification, all assist in providing flavours during the ageing process. The master distiller techniques and the ageing process, reveal and achieve the full rich botanical flavours providing a unique taste. The amber liquid has a light start with balanced oak characters, revealing the port and sherry overtones from the refilled barrels used. It is soft and sweet, with layers of citrus and has a spiced finish which gives it full expression showing its eloquence and giving it character, putting it into a class of its own.

Fleurieu Distillery Ecto Gammat Single Malt. Ecto Gammat was the pivotal line issued by Leeloo in the classic Sci-Fi movie “The Fifth Element”. It means “Never without my permission”. So too with whisky barrels. They are ready when they say so and never before. This peated release is a marriage (with the barrels’ permission) of port and apera single malt.
Tasting Notes: Limited to 460 hand-numbered bottles, 52.9% alc/vol and available in 700ml bottles. The nose is heavily influenced by the port casks, hints of raisins, dried fruits and tabacco are rounded off with a medium salty peat smoke in the finish.

Palate: Lifted floral notes, caramel and dried fruit sweetness with some white
pepper savory hints
Finish: Delicious long and slightly dry finish which is indicative of some very
fine old wood. A slightly smokey note that suggests peat but comes
from the heavy cask charring.
