Domaine Mittnacht Les Fossiles Riesling 2017Domaine Mittnacht Les Fossiles Riesling 2017
This wine is pale yellow in color with bright reflections. On the nose, it reveals fine fruit aromas. It is offdry, showing citrus flavors (grapefruit, lemon) and vivid acidity on the palate.
Pairs well with shrimp and grilled fish, shells, poultry but also excellent with fresh goat cheese.

This wine has a creamy touch on the nose but on the palate, lemon and an herbal, mossy freshness dominate. The creamy aspect makes for a textural backdrop. The finish is fresh, clean and dry.

Wonderfully expressive, dry, no-sulphur Riesling that is just so deliciously mouth-watering we can’t get enough of it, especially at the price. Naturally, the acidity is high, the fruit reminiscent of passionfruit and lime cordial concentrate. Even though those distinctive kerosine petrol notes (so hard to describe favourably, but so sought-after in Riesling fans) normally come with a bit more time, they are coming through in the aromas of the wine already. A great aperitif to get the juices flowing, so to speak, and also a welcome addition to the table with aromatic, spicy dishes of the Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Entry-level banger alert!
