Adega Eidos Padrinan Albarino 2016
Adega Eidos Padrinan Albarino 2016Adega Eidos Padrinan Albarino 2016. Founded in 2000 by local growers, Adega Eidos produces Albariño from grapes grown exclusively in and among the gardens of Sanxenxo in the parish of Padriñán, located at the southern extreme of Rías Baixas’ Val do Salnes subdistrict. The ‘Eidos’ (garden arbors) in Sanxenxo – 100 acres of which Adega Eidos owns – are traditionally trained, are almost always ungrafted, and are over 50 years of age.
Since 2003, winemaking has taken place in a winemaking facility of efficient and modern design overlooking Sanxenxo harbos. Selected bunches are brought the short distance in small crates, and are then sorted before the de-stemming, crushing and cold maceration processes. Natural yeasts undergo temperature control to achieve long fermentations and natural clarification, and the wines are left on their fine lees until bottling. Eidos de Padriñán is considered to be the primary wine of the larger estate, as it offers ripe and extracted Albariño fruit with clear mineral notes from the sea breeze and granitic soil.

Amo Vino Pelle 2020 Riverland NSW
Amo Vino Pelle 2020 Riverland NSWPelle is the perfect gateway/entry-level orange you need if you’re new to natural wine. A blend of Vermentino (60%), Greco (20%) and Zibibbo (20%) fermented on skins and aged in neutral barrels for 6 month.Pale yellow orange colour with aromas of orange peel, ginger, yellow apricots and a whiff of spice and florals. Juicy and textural its succulent citrus and stone-fruit flavours. Not overly grippy like some others out there.
The 2016/17 growing season was marked a wet spring, precipitating a relatively long and cool ripening period. A dry January/February enabled stress-free ripening and good retention of aromatics and grape acid.
Amo Vino is a celebration of the often-overlooked Riverland region and its rich cultural heritage, in the form of incredibly drinkable, good-times wines.
After an eye-opening trip to the Riverland with alternative variety whizz Ashley Ratcliff from Ricca Terra Farms. The Vinous team buddied up with Ashley to source sustainably grown fruit from his own vineyard and a couple of neighbours to create the Italian-inspired range. The potential quality of the fruit we saw was inspiring. With a bit of flair and extra care, the grapes from South Australia’s underdog region shine across this range.
