Bouchard Aîné & Fils’ “Rosé de France” blend uses mostly Cinsault Noir grapes to achieve a very elegant, fruity wine.
A beautiful clear rosé with purplish tints.
Fruity with hints of gooseberry and citrus fruits.
Slightly acidic for optimum freshness. Pleasantly soft in the mouth and easy to drink

Chateau de Brigue Rose 2017. Modern in packaging and clean in style, this is the estate’s excellent entry wine. It’s crisp with red currant and strawberry fruit, a gentle saline tang, easy to drink as ever, and builds complexity once in the mouth. A little oiliness is present, with some herbal/bell pepper notes adding further interest. Certainly refreshing, though fans out on the palate with a surprisingly detailed finish of brine, great complexity for its level.

Christina Zweigelt Rose 2019 -Ripe, fresh and summery, this beautiful rose of 100% Zweigelt is certain to satisfy. Aromas and flavors of strawberry, melon and cranberry pour out of its mineral-laden foundation, and six months on the lees help give the wine its generous texture.

Domaine Les Fouques Cuvee Tradition 2018. This Rosé displays a wonderfully full fruited and fleshy appeal, showing more density and textural layering than many other Provence counterparts. The low intervention winemaking throws elements of funk and texture, adding to the profile of peach, melon and wild strawberries. An energetic wine, as Yves and I concurred.

Pure Provence in style, this is a great all-occasions wine, and a first rate introduction to French rosé. Made and priced to over-deliver. From a riper vintage, this release is a little more fruit forward than usual, and that’s no bad thing. Full in the mouth and with an extra layer of juicy zestiness, classic strawberries and cream with a drop of mandarin juice, and a bittering, complexing finish, akin to the closing bite of a good gin and tonic. An easy wine to love and everything it should be – refreshing, straightforward, delicious and highly moreish!

What makes this 100% Sangiovese so attractive is the mix of subtle fruit aromas of apricots and raspberries, paired with a finely dosed, delicate spice, which immediately gives rise to associations with southern regions. It is pleasantly straightforward, without any pungent drops and unnecessary sweetness. And that is exactly why it is so catchy and easy to drink. With grilled fish,
